but, why?

This blog was birthed out of frustration and boredom, but then, some of the best ideas come from that place, so what the hell?

I know that the cooking craze has been going strong for quite some time, but as someone recently removed from the home of my parents, I have discovered a love of cooking, so much so that no matter what, I would NEVER want to do it professionally, for fear of losing the taste for it. (I apologize for the pun. Sometimes they are impossible to avoid.)

I just wanted to have a place to share my recipes as they come to me, usually out of budget constraints or strange and random cravings, and offer other people a chance to take what they see here, try something new and, hopefully, share the results of their culinary experiments.

It’s just fun.

I, myself, don’t eat chicken, beef or pork and very little fish (only the big ones), so my recipes will not include these, but meat can be added to anything, really, so go nuts. I welcome meat-based recipes if only because they make other people so happy, and I have been in situations when I needed to cook meat for other people. I’m not a nazi about this, so whatever you make and want to share, go ahead. I look forward to hearing from you.
